Winning of Silver Medal By Pakistani Student in Maths Olympiad Contest

Lahore, A batch of five students from Pakistan has participated in International Mathematical Olympiad which was held at the Argentinean town, Mar del Plata. 550 students of about 96 countries have participated in the two week long Olympiad.

Syed Waqar Ali Shah, an A-level student of Pak-Turk International School Karachi has won the silver medal in this contest.

The students participated from Pakistan have been selected from National mathematical Olympiad and National science talent contest organized by HEC.

The remaining four students of Pakistani batch were announced to be awarded with special prizes on their return to the country. The talents and their professional approach of the students and their coaches have been appreciated by the ASSMA Director-General Dr A.D. Raza Chaudhry, coordinator for training of the national team and other well renowned professors and scholars of highly reputed colleges and universities.

He further added that HEC and GCU, Lahore, had also extended venerable efforts for improving of quality of science education, especially mathematical science by providing the best international faculty to Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences.
