Islamabad, National University of Sciences & Technology Islamabad has introduced the fastest supercomputer which is made by any institute or department of Pakistan. This Supercomputer is accessorized with unique and most developed products. The Principal of Research Center for Modeling and Simulation has given briefing on the successful launching of fastest supercomputer of Pakistan which is manufactured by their department. The supercomputer which is designed by the NUST is unique and comprehensive computing system which has Pakistan has ever made. This supercomputer has quickest GPU with the installation of multi-core processors and graphics co-processors and interior processors which have the speed of 40 Gbps. The speed of 132 teraflops helps performing parallel computation.
The configuration of supercomputer consists of two Head Nodes (16 processor cores), 32 Nvidia computing processors, 32 Dual Quad Core Computing processors. In which each processor is equipped with 960 processor cores, 21.6 TB SAN storage and QDR Infiniband interconnection. The principal of the department confirmed that it is unique and latest supercomputer which performs its function with great speed.
