Lahore, A huge number of students have passed matric exams from Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. The students are now marching to get admission in government colleges of the city. About 25 thousands seats are available in 15 government colleges for boys as compared to the 31 government colleges for girls. This difference in number of college creates dissatisfaction among boys and thousands of boys are depriving of getting education in government colleges and now they are on the mercy of private colleges who charges heavy amount in the name of tuition fee. Most of the students belong to poor or middle class families and they cannot afford to get admission in private college and carry on their education.
The students, who secured excellent marks in their matriculation exams, apply in many colleges and the faculty of their choice which results into blockage of seats. When admission is announced, the student getting admission in many colleges select the best one and according to his desired faculty and leave the remaining colleges. So there are various seats blocked by such students. Punjab government should solve this issue regarding establishing more and more colleges, control fee structure of private colleges and admission policy of government colleges.
