Islamabad, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has enhanced the date of admissions for MS/MPhil and PhD programs till July 20. Admissions Director of AIOU, Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain told that Vice-Chancellor of AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has decided in favour of those applicants, who are appearing in the scheduled test of NTS which is going to be held on July 8.
He also added that admission forms and prospectuses can be obtained from the sale point of the main campus of university in Sector H-8, Islamabad and regional campuses and coordinating offices across the country.

According to the Admissions director of AIOU, the admissions are offered in PhD Program on MPhil basis in Urdu, Islamic Studies, Iqbal Studies, Chemistry, Physics and Pakistani Languages & Literature with specialization in Pushto, Balochi, Brahu, Sindhi, Saraiki or Punjabi languages whereas admissions are offered in MPhil program in Mass Communication, Islamic Studies, Iqbal Studies, Chemistry and Arabic.

Chemistry program is being offered in Islamabad only. The admission in MS is being given in the faculties of Community Health and Nutrition. For getting ad mission in MPhil/MS program candidates must have relevant MA/MSc second division and passed NTS GAT (General) Test whereas for PhD programs candidates must have MPhil first division/ 3 GPA in the concerned subject and have passed NTS GAT (subject) Test.

The results of NTS GAT (General/ Subject) are valid for 2 years. Students passed this test within this period and did not get admission can also apply. Admissions for semester autumn 2012 in Matric to Master programs will be given in July 2012.
