Islamabad, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, Prof Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has announced that they are going to launch a unique and exemplary open schooling program for the dropout children in different areas of the country. Initially this program will be started in Vehari, Chakwal and Thatha but after some time this program will be spread to other less privileged areas of the country.
This unique program has been given the title of “Educate a Child” under which the dropout children including a large number of girls will be provided the education who does not get education due to their financial problems or on some other reasons. He further added that various other notable organization like Commonwealth cooperate the University for extending education to about 1 million students.
The University has also designed a curriculum in which some skilled based work will also be added with their education. These skilled based programs make the syllabus of the students relevant to socio-economic needs of the students which providing the students some skills like dressmaking, gardening, policing and first aid training which will help them working in the practical field and become source of earning for them and their families.
