Islamabad, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, Prof Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has announced that they are going to launch a unique and exemplary open schooling program for the dropout children in different areas of the country. Initially this program will be started in Vehari, Chakwal and Thatha but after some time this program will be spread to other less privileged areas of the country.
This unique program has been given the title of “Educate a Child” under which the dropout children including a large number of girls will be provided the education who does not get education due to their financial problems or on some other reasons. He further added that various other notable organization like Commonwealth cooperate the University for extending education to about 1 million students.
The University has also designed a curriculum in which some skilled based work will also be added with their education. These skilled based programs make the syllabus of the students relevant to socio-economic needs of the students which providing the students some skills like dressmaking, gardening, policing and first aid training which will help them working in the practical field and become source of earning for them and their families.
Swat, Swat board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced the complete schedule of matriculation annual exams 2013. The annual exams 2013 for matric 9th and 10th will be held in next year on March 13, 2013.
The board has started admission process and the students who want to appear in the annual matric exams should obtain admission forms from the main office of the board and they also deposit their admission fee in the Allied Bank Limited Board Branch Swat Board in cash payment shape. The students living in far off places should deposit their admission fee in shape of money order remitted in the name of Secretary BISE Swat. The student should attach bank receipt of admission fee in original or money order slip in original with the admission forms as ready reference for the board and the student.
Faisalabad, The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairmen held a meeting in Dera Ghazi Khan on November 22, 2012 in which it was decided that the upcoming matric and intermediate annual exams 2013 will be held on February 23 and April 02, 2013.
Now Faisalabad board has announced that the annual exams 2013 for matriculation class (9th & 10th) will be started from February 23, 2013. The board has also announced that the students who want to appear in the annual exams 2013 for matric class will contact with the board for obtaining of admission forms. The admission process will be started from December 5 or 6 and the students who obtain admission forms should complete them and submit them in the main office of the board till December 24, 2012. They will have to deposit admission fees within due date and after passing the final date they will have to pay with late fee and students may have to face some complications.
Lahore, Training workshop of Rescue 1122 was held in the department of Applied Psychology of Punjab University Lahore for imparting basic skills for the students. During this workshop, District Emergency Officer Dr. Ahmed Raza gave the presentation to the participants about the Rescue 1122 which is a live saving force active in the society. Various other trainers including Ms Marium, Mr. Azam and Ms Firdous with other team members gave the training to the participants and also showed practical demonstration to the students about medical first aid and on firefighting and understand them who these forces work in emergency situations.
The participants including the Chairperson of Department of Applied Psychology Prof Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, Program Coordinator Ms Shahnila Tariq, staff and students in a large number were present in the whole training. They not only learnt about Rescue 1122 and its functions but also viewed the practical demo session of Rescue 1122. Prof Dr Rukhsana Kousar praised the working of the Rescue and thanked for giving important information about rescue and safety.

Karachi, The admission process in PGD Statistics is going to be commenced in the Karachi University, Statistics department. The Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Mudassir Uddin gave full detail for the admission process in the Statistic Department which is going to be started from December 2012.
The University administration has invited applications from the eligible and interested candidates for admission in PGD Statistics which can be obtained from the Department of Statistics, University of Karachi and this process will be continued till December 21, 2012. The admission policy will be transparent and the admissions will be granted on merit to the students who have already passed their graduation from any recognized university or institution.
On December 26, the list of the successful candidates will be displayed on the notice board of the department and the selected candidates will have to deposit their admission fee from December 27 to January 04, 2013 and the classes will be started from January 07, 2013.
According to the scheduled program, the PGD classes will be held from 03:00 pm to 05:30 pm and its duration is one year. After successful completion of the PGD course, the students will be eligible for grant of admission in MA/MSc in Statistics and Master in Computer Sciences.
Multan, the Educational Boards of the Punjab province have issued their complete schedule for holding annual examinations 2013 of both matric and intermediate classes which will be held on February 23 and April 02, 2013 respectively.
The chairman of BISEs Punjab Chaudhry Rashid said while talking with the media that the decision for conducting matric and intermediate examinations on such dates was made during a meeting of Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen on November 22 held at Dera Ghazi Khan. They have sent a proposal to the Punjab government for conducting of matric and intermediate exams keeping in view the general elections and the hot weather of summer in June and July for Intermediate classes.
According to the schedule decided in the meeting, the students who want to appear in the matric examination should submit application forms which will be obtainable from December 5 or 6 and their last date fixed as December 26, 2012 with deposit of normal fee.
The students who intend to appear in the Intermediate exams can obtain application forms from December 26 and then their admission process will be started. Further information will be intimated in due course of time.
Lahore, Punjab Government has already internships to thousands of unemployed but educated youth of the province in later months. The internees are working in different organizations and department and they are getting practical knowledge and experience in these department as well as getting stipend of Rs.10,000 per month as assistance.
Now Punjab government, once again is going to issue letters to about 30,000 educated and unemployed youth of the province. They will be granted internship in different departments and organizations for getting knowledge and experience there and remaining 20,000 will be issued letters for their internship in coming months so that they can show their exposures in different fields and become useful members of the society.
The decision was made during a meeting presided over by the chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif which was also attended by the Senator Pervez Rashid, Zaeem Qadri who is chairman of PND and higher education secretaries. He insisted the Chambers of Commerce and Industry for the support to the internees.
The CM further added that with this unique scheme, the unemployed youth has been given chance for the entire exposure of their talents and they have the opportunity to gain experience and can earn money and became the useful member of the society. He also stressed the youth to understand the requirement of the future and know the leaders who work for their betterment and they should use their right in an effective manner to bring change in the country.
Peshawar, University of Peshawar has made arrangements for awarding degrees to about 500 students in a convocation held in the University. Governor of KPK was the chief guest on this occasion.
According to the details, the convocation was organized by the Peshawar University for awarding of degrees in different disciplines to about 481 students of the University including 11 MPhil and 10 PhDs degrees. During this convocation 31 students were awarded with gold medals in various disciplines. There were 19 boys and 12 girls who received gold medal from the chief guest.
Addressing to the convocation, the chief guest said that educated people have vast and vivid view point on every topic and they can listen and respect the view points of other people and they have the potential to lead other people living in the community in a well mannered way and can convey their views and sentiments in very influential and efficient ways. For making Pakistan according to the ideologies and viewpoint of our founding leader, Quaid-e-Azam, we have to work hard in every field of life and we will make great progress to make our country more prosperous and peaceful. We will have to give importance to our religion in order to ensure the stability and integrity of our country.
Lahore, Spring Admission 2013 has been announced by the IB&M Department of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in their MBA Executive program.
According to the details, the admission process for Spring 2013 in the IB&M Department of UET University is going to start for grant of admission in Executive MBA program. The University administration invited the admission forms from the eligible and interested students who can receive admission forms from the admission department of the University and after completing them fully submit to the concerned department till December 20, 2012.
The students who have completed their 14 years of education with 4 years of work experience or 16 years of education with 2 years of works experience and qualified with GAT Test General (Minimum – 50) are eligible for applying in the subject programs. Final selection will be made by the selection committee of the University keeping in view the work experience, past educational record of the student, interview, evening/weekend learning programs for professional living in Lahore.
