Lahore, International Physics Olympiad has arranged a 43rd International Physics Olympiad competition in Estonia from July 15, to Jul 24, 2012 in which students from 81 countries have been participated. First position grabbed by the students of Hungary, second was secured by China and third position was clinched by the talented student belong to Pakistan.
Taimoor Iftikhar is 2nd year student of Rangers Public School & College Mandi Baha Ud Din, got third position in the competition. The competitions have been organized since 1967 in the supervision of International Physics Olympiad with the aim to share the experiences of the young and skillful students and cope with the challenges facing in the field of Physics.
Karachi, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology has awarded Research productivity Awards 2011 to research scholars of Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology including Prof Dr Moin Ud Din Ahmed of Department of Botany, Assistant Prof Dr Itrat Fatima of Department of Pharmacy and Assistant Prof Dr Sobiya Parwez of Department of Chemistry.
According to the notification, the purpose of the Research Productivity Award is to improve the quality and number of research papers publications in foreign journals. Since it existence the number and quality of research has been improved and educational and research institution in private sector are also declared eligible for the purpose in order to enhance the number of research publication from our country.
Lahore, The approval has been accorded by the Punjab government for four years Punjab Enhanced Functional Literacy and project of Informal Basic Education and department of Informal Basic Education and funded with Rs.2.3 billion.
Chairman P&D Javed Aslam reviewed the review project plan in the meeting of Punjab Development Working Party which was sent by Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed Khan, Secretary Literacy department. The government has already clearly stated that Rs. 700 million has already been reserved for the litereacy department against their requirement of Rs.1.437 billion in the currect financial year to cdarrty out their annual development progam.
P&D chairman and secretaries of school education department accepted Punjab Accelerated Functional Literacy and Project of Informal Basic Education while attending the meeting.
Under this project, 35 districts have been selected in which 30 selected union councils, 170 schools of informal basic education will be imparted to the students of 5 to16 years age group. The teachers busy in giving education in these schools, their salaries will be improved from Rs.2500 to Rs.5000.
In partial super session of this office Notification No. 152/Cond.D.S. dated 23rd May, 2012 regarding B.Ed. 2nd Annual Examination, 2011 & Annual Examination, 2012 it is hereby notified that the commencement date of said Examination has been re-scheduled and now this exam will commence w.e.f. 20th September, 2012 instead of 29th August, 2012.

According to details, the date of submission of admission forms & fee for Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D), first and second professional Annual Exam 2012 is 10-08-12 with single fee and 15-08-12 with double fee while for third professional Annual Exam 2012 is 14-08-12 with single fee and 16-08-12 with double fee. Islamabad, A Pakistan student, Malik Nabeel Ahmed studying at SLS and Montessori School System has shown terrific performance during various competitions at USA and won many prizes including medals, certificates and commendation letters. He was selected from 108 students and sent to USA for taking part in Program of Academic Exchange and won a certificate. He and his team stood victorious in competitions of rappelling and Orientation and Land Navigation and were awarded with orienteering ribbon.

Lahore, FCC which is also known as Former Christian College Lahore offers Merit scholarships to Intermediate and Baccalaureate programs students. FCC has formulated as policy according to which scholarships will be given to fresh students of Intermediate class which will start in August 2012 and Baccalaureate during September 2012. The top position holder students of Matriculation exams in any board of Pakistan for taking admission in Intermediate class will be declared waiving of 100% tuition fee and students securing 85% marks in the board will be eligible for obtaining scholarship.
The policy is for all students on first come first serve basis. The students whose attendance is about 75% and average 85% on monthly test will be eligible. Students of degree class should scored 2.0 GPA with full time status.
Scholarship awarded to Intermediate classes will be 37 and for degree classes will be 70. The degree class scholarships will be further distributed as 58 for BA (Hons)/BSc (Hons) students, 6 for BSc (Hons) Business and 6 for BSc (Hons) Computer Sciences. The student who has obtained 85% aggregate in 2nd year but less than 85% in first year will also be considered for scholarship. Other students passing A level having 3 or more AS in A level exams in the relevant subject and pass in FEAT and International Baccalaureate students pass GPA and FEAT are eligible for scholarship after his evaluation positively by the committee.
Lahore, Some reliable sources has exposed the corruption in preparation of BA result in the examination department of Punjab University Lahore. Examination department of the University are allegedly involved in corruption for declaring failing candidates passed in the BA result 2012. On becoming known of the case, the establishment of the University has taken the record of BA result 2012 into their custody and started necessary investigation against assistant controller of examination, staff of computer cell and other concerned staff.
The authorities concerned are not giving details of the corruption case. The annual result of BA 2012 would be announced on August 1, 2012 will be delayed for one or two weeks. The announcement of the result is expecting during 2nd week of August.
